Sugarcane Bagasse Paper Pulp Mill Machine Technology

Sugarcane bagasse, the fibrous residue left after extracting juice from sugarcane, is a sustainable raw material for paper pulp production. Modern bagasse paper pulp mill machine technology integrates eco-friendly processes and advanced machinery to convert this agricultural byproduct into high-quality pulp.

The process begins with bagasse preparation. Machines such as shredders and cutters reduce the bagasse into uniform sizes, improving pulping efficiency. Next, washing and cleaning systems remove impurities, dirt, and residual sugar using water and mechanical agitation. Cleaned bagasse then enters the cooking stage, where it is processed in digesters with chemicals like sodium hydroxide or sulfate at high temperature and pressure. This breaks down lignin, separating cellulose fibers.

After cooking, the pulp undergoes washing and screening via vacuum washers and pressure screens to remove black liquor and uncooked particles. Bleaching systems follow, using eco-friendly agents such as hydrogen peroxide or oxygen to achieve desired brightness without harmful chlorines. This step employs multi-stage bleaching towers and mixers for consistent results.

Refining and beating machines, such as disc refiners, improve fiber strength and bonding ability. The pulp is then concentrated using pulp press machines or twin-roll presses to reduce moisture content before being formed into sheets or bales.

Modern mills incorporate automation and control systems (PLC/SCADA) for real-time monitoring of pH, temperature, and flow rates, ensuring consistent quality and energy efficiency. Waste recovery systems, like recovery boilers, recycle chemicals and generate steam, reducing environmental impact.

Key machinery includes:

● Bagasse conveyors and cutters

● Continuous or batch digesters

● Drum washers and pressure screens

● Oxygen delignification units

● Pulp dewatering presses

This technology supports sustainability by utilizing a renewable resource, reducing deforestation, and minimizing waste. With increasing demand for green packaging and eco-paper, sugarcane bagasse pulp mills represent a smart fusion of agricultural residue utilization and advanced papermaking technology.
